Liquor ban suspended
In response to calls from local businessmen, Iloilo City Mayor Jose Espinosa III said the order requiring all bars, night clubs, and similar establishments to close at 2:00 a.m. will be suspended beginning on Friday, the start of the Iloilo Dinagyang Festival highlights.
“This is only applicable starting this Friday until Monday morning,” the mayor affirmed.
Meanwhile, earlier this week, the Iloilo City Anti-Smoking Task (ICAST) reminded those attending the ongoing festival, especially during the upcoming highlights, to be mindful of the “No Smoking” policy.
“Smoking is definitely not allowed in public places here,” ICAST Director Iñigo Garingalao stated. “Always remember that smoking is bad for your health and we do not want our tourists to remember that there are a lot of smokers in Iloilo City.”/WDJ
