According to the Bacolod City Department of Social Services and Development (DSSD) there are currently 41 minors under custody at the city’s Social Development Center (SDC).
DSSD head Pacita Tero said of the 41, who are between the ages of 14 and 17, 20 face drug-related charges.
The others face accusations of theft and rape.
With regard to the most recent arrest, a 17-year-old pregnant teenager, who was arrested in Barangay 2 for illegal drugs possession, Tero said she has asked police to conduct a pregnancy test and dental check-up, noting, statements the minor has provided for authorities “do not add up.”/DGB, WDJ
