Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency-Region 6 (PDEA-6) operatives and Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) personnel conducted random shakedowns between Monday and yesterday at the Metro Bacolod District Jail (MBDJ) in Barangay Taculing and the Negros Occidental Provincial Jail in Barangay Tabunan, Bago City.

Based on a statement by PDEA-6, the first operation conducted at the MBDJ facility did not yield any illegal drugs.

The MBDJ facility was searched with inmates moved to an open area, while K-9 units were called in order to sniff out any contraband.

While the search was being performed, inmates were all subject to drug testing, with everyone testing negative.

A separate search yesterday morning at the provincial jail also resulted in no illegal drugs seized and inmates testing negative for drug use./DGB, WDJ
