Following a request by Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia for the Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) to pass a measure extending the deadline for the ongoing Business One-Stop Shop (BOSS) at the Bacolod City Government Center, which is designed to provide faster and convenient business permit registration, the local legislative body recently passed an ordinance extending the program to February 28.

BOSS was initially scheduled to end on January 20.

In addition, a similar extension was passed last year.

The call for an extension this year stemmed from a letter penned by Metro Bacolod Chamber of Commerce and Industry President Roberto Montelibano, who said an extension would benefit businessmen.

Meanwhile, Executive Assistant Samuel Montoyo, Sr. said all 61 Bacolod City barangays have now joined in the event.

Barangay participation is mandatory under RA 11032, or the Anti-Red Tape Act of 2007./DGB, WDJ
