A 2.2-magnitude earthquake was recorded yesterday morning west of Sipalay City. According to a Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) bulletin, the tremor struck just before 6:40 a.m.
The agency noted, there were no reported damages as a result of the incident, nor were there any anticipated aftershocks.
Earthquakes ranging between 1.0 and 3.0 in magnitude are often classified as a Level 1 on the Mercalli Intensity Scale, where very few even feel the tremor.
An earlier 2.2-magnitude quake struck the same city last Wednesday, with a subsequent Phivolcs bulletin reporting no damages as a result of the incident, nor were aftershocks expected./WDJ
