Mayor reaffirms ‘no vendors in the plaza’ policy

The Iloilo City Hall and Plaza Libertad were lit up for the Christmas season following a “switch-on” ceremony, which was led by Iloilo City Mayor Jose Espinosa III last week.

“[Plaza Libertad] is where people gather,” he said. “That is why it is always the center of the community, where City Hall and church are located.”

Espinosa also reiterated his policy of barring vendors from the plaza.

“What I am doing in our plazas is correct and the public is with me in this decision to disallow ‘ukay-ukay’ vendors inside our plazas,” he stated./WDJ
