The Bacolod City Sangguniang Panlungsod (SP) recently approved a two-month extension on  the waste management contract with IPM Construction and Development Corporation (IPM-CDC).
The approval was made as the current contract is set to expire in December 31.
The city will pay IPM-CDC P7.5 million a month for garbage collection and P7.9 million to manage the landfill in Barangay Felisa.
Meanwhile, City Councilor Caesar Distrito explained, conducting bidding is not allowed as there was no appropriation ordinance made since the P2.52 billion budget for 2019 was just approved in the first week of December.
He added, the contract extension can be further extended to four months based on the agreement made between the city and IPM-CDC./DGB, WDJ
