Police Regional Office-6 (PRO-6) is currently on ‘red alert’ status ahead of the holiday season. Under such status, all pertinent offices are expected to report to the main office on a 24-hour basis.

PRO-6 spokesperson, Police Superintendent Joem Malong, said PRO-6 director, Police Chief Superintendent John Bulalacao, approved “Oplan: Ligtas Paskuhan,” which will deploy 7,000 police personnel across the region.

The said operation will be fully implemented by December 16, the first day of the “Aguinaldo Masses,” or ‘Simbang Gabi.’

Malong said the regional director specifically ordered police commanders to concentrate their deployment in protecting places of convergence such as shopping malls, bus terminals, seaports, airports, and churches.

She added, all leave privileges for police officers will be cancelled once the operation is in full effect./DGB, WDJ
