The Iloilo City Health Office (CHO) recently called on restaurant owners to ensure kitchens are clean.
Iloilo City health officer, Dr. Bernard Caspe, said, aside from qualifying for a sanitation permit, restaurant owners and staff must maintain cleanliness.
“Preparing the food is crucial, especially [since] you are serving it to your clients,” he explained. “Our sanitary inspectors conduct inspection [at] all restaurants in the city during [the] renewal of their business permits in January.”
He also called on the public to report unhygienic practices.
“It is your prerogative to post it on social media, however, we advise to directly report it to us or write a formal letter for immediate action and for us to conduct investigation,” Caspe said./WDJ
