The Negros Occidental Provincial Veterinary Office (PVO) recently received new modern microscope equipment, which will make the monitoring of rabies easier.

PVO head, Dr. Renante Decena, said they started using the equipment in order to obtain confirmatory diagnosis for cases.

The PVO official said diagnosing rabies is faster compared to using a compound microscope.

Based on recent PVO records, they have recorded 30 positive rabies cases in the province this year with one confirmed fatality last month in Himamaylan City./DGB, WDJ
