Amid the ongoing debate over the construction of a coal power plant in San Carlos City, acting Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said the province is open to proposals on hydroelectric power plants.
He said the addition of such plants would help supply the power needs in the province, adding, a number of investors previously expressed interest in such a project but eventually backed away from plans.
Lacson added, with at least seven major river systems in the province, an estimated 200 megawatts of power could be generated in the province./DGB, WDJ
