Travel company Agoda, which earlier named two hotels in Dumaguete City and two in Boracay among this year’s Agoda Gold Circle Award recipients, recently included Bacolod City’s Bantug Lake Ranch as one of the country’s “gastronomic destinations for foodies.”

In terms of cuisine, a press release highlighted local delicacy “kansi,” which they described as a “marriage of bulalo and sinigang.”

The statement further called the dish “the ultimate comfort food.”

The seven-hectare property in Barangay Alangilan features a lake where visitors can go fishing or boating; a ranch for horseback riding, along with feeding peacocks and turkeys; swimming pool; restaurant; and picnic area.

Among the other locales listed by Agoda include The Farm at San Benito in Lipa City, Batangas for lomi; Siete Verano Guest House in Puerto Princesa, Palawan for tamilok; Hotel Luna in Vigan City, Ilocos Sur for empanadas; and the Oriental Legazpi in Legazpi City, Albay for Bicol express./WDJ
