Sipalay City was struck by a 3.0-magnitude earthquake early yesterday morning. According to a Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology bulletin, the tremor struck west of the city around 2:34 a.m.
The agency reported no damages as a result of the incident, nor were there any anticipated aftershocks.
According to the Mercalli Intensity Scale, earthquakes that range between 3.0 and 3.9 in magnitude are considered between a Level II and III, where a few people feel the tremor, especially those on the upper floors of buildings. In some cases, the seismic activity may create a sensation similar to a passing truck.
