After opening their 2018 AFF Suzuki Cup campaign with a 2-0 record, defeating Singapore and Timor-Leste in their first two group stage matches, the Philippine national football team, the Azkals, next face defending champions Thailand tonight at 7:30 p.m. at the Panaad Park and Stadium in Bacolod City.

The match is a battle for the top of the table as Thailand is also coming into the match undefeated.

The two teams have played each other several times with the Thai squad coming out the victor in nearly every meeting.

In their respective clashes with Timor-Leste, where the Philippines ended up eking out a 3-2 win after losing a 3-0 lead, Thailand delivered a dominating 7-0 triumph.

Following their performance, Azkals coach Sven-Göran Eriksson said, “I think we have to improve.”

“I know that we can do much, much better,” he added./PLL, WDJ
