SM City Bacolod officially declared the Christmas season open!
The annual launch, a much awaited event, was highlighted by the lighting of the giant Christmas Tree.
This year’s theme is Circus Crush, inspired by everything fun and playful at the carnival.
Before the tree lighting, a program kicked off featuring performances by the University of St. La Salle Chorale and students of the Garcia-Sanchez School of Dance.
In his opening remarks, SM mall manager George Jardiolin said, “It’s no secret that Filipinos love to celebrate Christmas for as long as possible and it has always been an SM Christmas tradition to start the holiday excitement.”
Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia also said “SM really takes the lead” in making the season a festive one, ensuring the public enjoys the special days leading up to Christmas.
As early as September, SM Supermalls around the country started their 100 Days to Christmas Countdown and, following the grand Christmas Launch, Jardiolin said mallgoers can look forward to more #ChristmaSMoments through holiday performances, Santa sightings, toy fairs, and parades through the end of the year.
Leonardia and his wife Elsa, along with city officials, mall executives, and Santa Claus, led the lighting of the 30-foot tree, adorned with giant balls and trinkets in red and gold. Completing the base is a centerpiece set of circus animals and clowns, perfect for photo ops.
The giant Christmas Tree and other holiday centerpieces and decor around the mall can be enjoyed throughout the season. (PR)
