Over 7,000 expected for today’s opening rites

More than 7,000 student-athletes, coaches, and officials are expected to converge on the Panaad Park and Stadium at 2:00 p.m. today for the 2018 Bacolod City Athletic Association Meet opening rites, where Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia, lone district Rep. Greg Gasataya, and members of the Sangguniang Panlungsod are also expected to attend.

In addition, athletic manager Eden Ariola said an additional 250 technical officials will also be joining the ceremony.

The athletes will be competing in a variety of events including arnis, athletics, badminton, basketball, boxing, chess, gymnastics, sepak takraw, sipa, softball, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, and tennis.
