The Employees’ Compensation Commission (ECC) recently revealed they currently have P62 billion in assets set aside for government employees.

During a recent press conference in Bacolod City, ECC Executive Director Stella Zipagan-Banawis affirmed, “Claims are paid from [the] state pension fund.”

Among benefits the commission provides cover sickness, retroactive payments, pension increases, among others.

“Our major challenge is to be able to inform more workers and employers that we have funds for benefits for work related accidents, injuries and death,” she added.

Zipagan-Banawis pointed out, as of last month, there have been 946 sickness and medical claims filed./WDJ
