A sea turtle was rescued after getting caught in a fishing net Sunday morning in Barangay Sagua Banua, Valladolid, Negros Occidental.

According to Valladolid municipal police and the local environmental office, they received a call from local fishermen after spotting the trappled sea turtle.

Authorities determined the animal was an olive ridley sea turtle, which considered a “vulnerable species.”

The turtle was later returned to sea after an examination found it to be in good condition./DGB, WDJ
