President Rodrigo Duterte is expected in Sagay City today to visit the wake for the nine National Federation of Sugar Workers (NFSW) farmers who were gunned down over the weekend.
The visit was announced yesterday during a Radyo Pilipinas interview with senatorial candidate, former Special Assistant to the President Christopher Lawrence ‘Bong’ Go.
It was earlier announced, the president would also be in Bacolod City for this weekend’s MassKara Festival highlights.
Following the incident, NFSW and senatorial candidate, former Bayan Muna partylist Rep. Neri Colmenares, both put out statements linking Duterte to the shooting.
NFSW claimed the Duterte administration has made the intimidation, harassment, and killing of activists and critics “state policy.”/DGB, WDJ
