Security chief shoots self in Granada

A security official died after allegedly shooting himself late Wednesday night inside their home at the Charito Heights Subdivision in Barangay Granada, Bacolod City.

Police refused to identify the 38-year-old victim, but confirmed he was the chief of security for a well-known university in the city.

Based on an investigation carried out by Police Station 5, the victim shot himself in the head using a .45 caliber service firearm, which resulted in an instantaneous death.

When investigators interviewed the victim’s relative, they learned the victim was said to be emotionally distressed following a fight with his girlfriend, who is currently working in Japan.
