Pension house staff member stabs colleague in Villamonte

A pension house room attendant was allegedly stabbed by a colleague late Wednesday night in Barangay Villamonte, Bacolod City.

Police identified the victim as Resty Natuel, a resident of Barangay MH del Pilar in Pontevedra, Negros Occidental.

Based on a Police Station 4 (PS4) investigation, Natuel was resting in the establishment’s workers’ quarters when the suspect, identified as 31-year-old Arnold dela Cruz, arrived.

Dela Cruz, who was supposedly drunk at the time, allegedly began assaulting Natuel and stabbed him twice, hitting him in the back and side.

The altercation was eventually broken up.

Dela Cruz was arrested by responding police, while Natuel was rushed to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital for treatment.

Police recovered a 10-inch long knife from the crime scene, allegedly used by the assailant in the attack.

Dela Cruz is detained at PS4 and is facing criminal charges./DGB, WDJ
