Negros Occidental Vice Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson will lead a team to pitch the province as an “investment destination” today before the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
He said the province would primarily be suggested for tourism investment as the area lacks hotels, but said other potential sectors include power generation, business process outsourcing, information technology, and logistics.
“We have other areas [they] can invest in,” the vice government explained. “We can show them that we have the land, all we need is just investors.”
Lacson pointed out, while the sugar industry is still present, he wanted to present other sectors available for investment in Negros Occidental.
“Negros Occidental already diversified a long time ago, starting with aqua-culture,” he added./DGB, WDJ
