USLS-IS takes two division titles

The University of St. La Salle-Integrated School (USLS-IS) won both the Born 2006 and above and Born 2001 and above girls divisions of the 2018 Dynamic Football League (DFL) 2nd Conference finals over the weekend at the Sta. Maria Football Fields in Talisay City.

Previous reports identified USLS-IS only as USLS.

USLS-IS defeated Bago City FC, 3-2, in the finals of the Born 2006 and above division. S. Lagahit scored the first goal for the eventual winners, with the additional two scored by Vince Lacson. Franz Nolec Hervias, meanwhile, scored a brace for Bago City FC.

Among individual awards, USLS-IS earned most of the honors with Vince Lacson named MVP, Dirk Goyala as Best Goalkeeper, and Javier Cuadra as Best Defender. Bago City FC picked up Best Striker through Hervias and Chris Tinguy won Best Midfielder.

USLS-IS also won the Born 2001 Girls division by beating Calvary Pontevedra, 6-2.

Mikaela Villacin scored four goals in the match.

USLS-IS picked up several individual awards with Bianca Jaranilla named MVP, Cher Vaplor as Best Goalkeeper, Francisca Xyl Rones – Best Defender, and Villacin – Best Midfielder.

In other divisions, the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos defeated Villa Angela FC, 4-3, to take the Born 2010 Mix division; and Don Bosco Technical Institute-A beat Pontevedra FC-A, 3-2, to capture the Born 2008 Mix division.

Looking forward to next season, DFL chairman, Negros Occidental Football Association President Ricky Yanson, said, “We might include futsal next conference.”/JSG, WDJ
