The Bacolod City Police Office-City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) seized a total P1.2 million worth of suspected shabu late Wednesday night in a buy-bust operation at Purok Tahong in the city’s Barangay 2.
CDEU assistant team leader, Police Inspector Adrian James Albaytar, said the target of the operation was Edwin Jemina, a known drug personality in the area.
Albaytar, however, said the suspect managed to escape after discovering he was dealing with police operatives.
Police recovered a total 24 sachets of suspected shabu and the P1,000 buy-bust money.
A search further yielded a .357 caliber revolver with one live bullet, a coin purse, and a bag.
Albaytar added, the suspect escaped by jumping on the rooftop of his house and crossed to nearby homes.
The suspect is currently being hunted down by police, while charges of illegal possession of dangerous drugs and firearms are prepared to be filed against him./DGB, WDJ
