Diocese of Bacolod Bishop Patricio Buzon was included among eight Filipino bishops invited by Pope Francis to attend the Bishops Synod in Vatican City from October 3 to 28.
The Filipino delegation will be headed by Manila Archbishop Luis Antonio Cardinal Tagle, who was also appointed to the 15-member synod council back in 2015.
Among the delegates representing the Catholic Bishops’ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) are Bangue Bishop Leopoldo Jaucian and CBCP Episcopal Commission on Youth vice chairman, Legazpi Bishop Joel Baylon.
Also attending the synod are Don Bosco priest, Fr. Renato De Guzman; Diocese of Parañaque priest, Fr. Emmanuel Enrico Ayo; and Nicole Anne Perez, a catechist of Archdiocese of Manila.
Bishop Pedro Baquero will also be in attendance, representing the Kerema Diocese of Papua New Guinea and the Solomon Islands./DGB, WDJ
