The Diocese of Bacolod Social Action Center (SAC) recently appealed for the Roman Catholic faithful to donate relief goods in order to assist the typhoon victims in northern Luzon.

Last week, Typhoon “Mangkhut,” locally named “Ompong,” ripped through the northern portion of the country, leaving over 80 dead, along with billions in damages.

In a radio interview yesterday, SAC head, Fr. Chris Gonzales, said the Roman Catholic church nationwide is requesting various relief goods, including food, clothing, and medicine.

He noted, cash donations can also be made to individual parishes, noting, based on past experience, money is faster way to provide assistance as it may take a while to gather and ship the goods.

Gonzales added, Diocese of Bacolod Bishop Patricio Buzon is expected to send a letter urging everybody to make a donation./DGB, WDJ
