DSWD calling for volunteers

The Department of Social Welfare and Development is currently seeking volunteers to work at their National Resource Operations Center, located in Pasay City, in order to repack relief goods for victims of Typhoon “Mangkhut,” locally named “Ompong.”

The campaign is expected to run until October 13 and the center will be in operation 24 hours a day and seven days a week.

Those interested in participating are recommended to provide at least four hours per session, wear comfortable clothes and closed shoes, and to bring snacks if intending to stay for a long period of time.

Based on a recent report, around 59 people have died as a result of the storm./WDJ
