The Organization for Industrial, Spiritual, and Cultural Advancement (OISCA) Training Center in Barangay Tabunan, Bago City celebrated its 30th anniversary over the weekend, which included a thanksgiving mass and addresses by Negros Occidental Governor Alfredo Marañon, Jr. and Bago City Vice Mayor Ramon Torres.
“The advocacy of OISCA, which is ‘Food First, Love Green,’ has never been relevant than it is today,” the governor said. Meanwhile, the vice mayor congratulated OISCA and noted their contributions to the local community.
The Bago City training center is headed by Shigemi Watanabe and sits on 26 hectare of farmland.
The center has played a major role in the country’s silk industry and is funded by Japan-based non-governmental organization OISCA International./WDJ
