BTTHS wins regional title

Bacolod Tay Tung High School (BTTHS) successfully defended their Rebisco Volleyball League-Western Visayas leg Girls’ 18-and-Under title after recently defeating Central Philippine University (CPU), 25-21, 25-21, 25-13.
The team advances to the national finals in Manila, scheduled to take place from November 17 to 24.
“Three months of tough training paid off,” said BTTHS Vice President for Sports Jose Montalbo. “All effort and sacrifices were all worth it.”
The victory also earned the team P25,000.
Meanwhile, BTTHS dominated the individual awards with Shane Carmona named MVP, Joan Monares took best middle blocker, Kiesha Bedonia – second best middle blocker, Alyssa Bertolano – best opposite attacker, and Katherine Shane Cortez – best setter. Among other winners included Chris Ann Susbilla winning best outsider attacker and Pearl Ann Denura taking best librero, both play for CPU.
Before the Rebisco Volleyball League national finals, BTTHS will compete in the Batang Pinoy National Finals, which takes place from September 15 to 21 in Baguio City./JSG, WDJ
