Commission on Elections (Comelec) offices in Bacolod City and Negros Occidental will be conducting special registrations today throughout the province.
Comelec-Negros Occidental supervisor, Atty. Jessie Suarez, said Comelec offices will prioritize persons with disabilities (PWD) and senior citizens for special registration from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Suarez also confirmed he has already received communication from the Comelec central office pertaining to the filing of certificates of candidacy for the 2019 midterm polls.
Bacolod elections supervisor, Atty. Mavil Majarucon Sia, meanwhile, said they will also conduct special registrations at the Bacolod City Government Center annex building, specifying it will only be for PWDs and seniors.
Sia said the reason for the special registration is to make the process much easier for the said populations./DGB, WDJ
