Newly-elected Bacolod City barangay officials are expected to attend a training seminar by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) today.

Bacolod City-DILG officer-in-charge Ma. Joy Maredith Madayag said all barangay officials, comprised of 61 barangay captains and Sangguniang Kabataan chairpersons, and 427 barangay kagawads, are required to attend.

Madayag explained the training will be divided into three batches. Twenty barangays will be included in today’s batch with the seminar lasting until August 31.

The second batch, comprised of 21 barangays, is scheduled to attend from September 4 to September 6; and the final batch of 20 barangays will participate from September 11 to 13.

Madayag said the aim of the program is to educate barangay officials on good governance as well as the creation of development agendas./DGB, WDJ
