A 30-year-old man was killed after he was allegedly stabbed by his younger brother late Saturday night inside their home at Sitio Luag in Barangay Lucutan, Kabankalan City.

Police identified the fatality as Alfred Sondia.

Based on information provided to Kabankalan City police, the victim’s father, Romeo, said Sondia was arguing with his 24-year-old brother Raffy. The conflict escalated as the elder brother threw insults at his sibling, with the younger sibling claiming their parents favored the elder.

The two were then involved in a fistfight, wherein their mother tried to intervene, but the younger sibling then pulled out a bladed weapon and stabbed his brother in the chest.

The victim was rushed to the Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Hospital and was declared dead on arrival by hospital staff.

Meanwhile, their father expressed hesitation in filing charges against the 24-year old. He plead for police to not arrest the assailant until he made a final decision./DGB, WDJ
