Bacolod City Liga ng mga Barangay president Lady Gles Gonzales confirmed yesterday the passing of Barangay Taculing’s No.1 kagawad Dante Basan.

In a radio interview, Gonzales said Basan was rushed to the hospital on Saturday after suffering from heart attack.

The 44-year-old Basan was pronounced dead on Sunday afternoon, Gonzales added.

Basan was serving his second term as a village councilman in Taculing.

Gonzales said Basan was a good public servant. His constituents even call him their “big brother.”

Gonzales lamented the fact that Basan could no longer push through his many plans for the barangay.

The late councilman’s remains are interred at St. Peter’s Memorial Chapels in Barangay Alijis.

They will be transferred to Taculing’s barangay hall on Friday to allow villagers to pay their last respects./DGB, WDJ
