Dolina: They are already irrelevant

In response to reported harassment by the Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army (CPP-NPA) against the Citizen Armed Force Geographical Units (CAFGU) active auxiliary detachment in Miagao, Iloilo, Philippine Army 3rd Infantry Division commander, Brigadier General Dinoh Dolina, called it “desperation.”

“This kind of harassment is a clear indication of desperation,” he recently explained. “They are already irrelevant.”

According to reports, troops claimed rebel forces harassed the said detachment earlier this week; however, those on the ground said the NPA members remained 250 meters away from the site.

“They are afraid to directly engage with our troops,” Dolina affirmed.

An event held last month at Camp General Adriano Hernández in Dingle, Iloilo, base for the Philippine Army 301st Infantry Brigade, presented 84 surrendered rebels.

According to Dolina, the event provided “an opportunity to the former rebels to attest their sincerity in returning to the folds of the government.”/WDJ
