Personnel transferred to Region 7
An order signed by Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Director General Aaron Aquino relieved PDEA-Region VI (PDEA-6) director, Atty. Wardley Getalla, and 88 others from duty, effective yesterday, August 1.
“I don’t know really the reason,” said Getalla. “As far as I know, there’s a swapping among us.”
The 89 are set to be transferred to Region 7.
The outgoing PDEA-6 director believes the group is being sent to “help solve the recent killing of PDEA personnel in Cebu.”
Back in June, it was reported, PDEA-6 topped anti-illegal drug operations for two consecutive terms.
Based on data gathered from January to June 2018, PDEA-6 recorded the highest number of accomplishments, which include the arrests of high-value drug targets and target-listed drug personalities./WDJ
