A Bacolod City National High School (BCNHS) student was rushed to a hospital last Tuesday, after he was allegedly stabbed on campus.

Police identified the victim as 21-year-old Dino Panuncio, a resident of Barangay Handumanan of the said city.

Police Station 6 commander, Police Senior Inspector Wilfredo Benoman, Jr., said Panuncio was eating in the canteen when he was assaulted by four unidentified suspects, believed to be fellow students.

Benoman said Panuncio was initially punched and kicked, before being stabbed in the back with a ballpen.

The suspects immediately fled after the incident.

Benoman said they are currently coordinating with school officials in the ongoing investigation, while he is positive Panuncio will be able to identify the suspects.

He added, in light of the incident, they have strengthened security at the school./DGB, WDJ
