Handumanan National High School hosted Campus Green Summit 2018 last week, which gathered around 250 class officers and club leaders.
Negros Occidental Provincial Environment and Management Office Public Information Officer Olive H. Seruelo served as guest speaker and discussed environmental advocacy, along with promoting “greening activities,” such as tree planting.
A screening of “Mother Nature Speaking” was also shown, along with a covenant signing.
The school’s Chamber of Young Entrepreneurs (COYE), along with its sister club, the Brigaders of Environment for Reconstruction and Development, sponsored the event.
Earlier this year, COYE ranked fourth in the “Best Implementer” category of the Campus Integrity Crusader program by the Office of the Ombudsman-Division of Bacolod.
The group previously received awards from the Department of Education-Bacolod and the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos University Community Development Office; along with receiving the Seal of Good Environmental Governance bronze award/WDJ
