Negrense wins silver in Indonesian boxing competition

Rogen Ladon of Bago City won silver in the Kapolri Cup, an international boxing tournament that took place in Manado City, Indonesia earlier this month.

The Negrense boxer lost to Ryuseu Baba of Japan in the finals of the men’s flyweight division.

Last month, Ladon also won silver at the President’s Cup, a boxing competition that took place in Astana, Kazakhstan.

The Kapolri Cup is considered a warm-up event for the upcoming 2018 Asian Games, scheduled to run from August 18 to September 2 and co-hosted by Indonesian cities Jakarta and Palembang.

Meanwhile, Filipino boxers Josie Gabuco, Nesthy Petecio, and Ramel Macado, Jr. won gold in their respective weight classes./JSG, WDJ
