At least P120,000 worth of suspected shabu was recently confiscated after operatives from the Negros Occidental Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) and San Carlos City police conducted a buy-bust operation at Fatima Village in Barangay Rizal, San Carlos City.

Police identified the suspect as 28-year-old Richard Lagos, a suspected local drug personality and resident of the said area.

San Carlos City police chief, Police Superintendent D’Artagnan Katalbas, Jr., said Lagos had been under police surveillance several weeks prior to the operation.

He said operatives moved in after Lagos handed one sachet of suspected shabu to a police poseur buyer, in exchange for P1,100.

A search of the suspect and premises yielded one big, one small, and two elongated sachets of suspected shabu, with an overall weight of eight grams; drug paraphernalia; P1,200 worth in suspected drug money; and a loaded .22 caliber magnum revolver.

Lagos faces illegal drugs and illegal possession of firearms charges and is detained at the San Carlos City Police Station./DGB, WDJ
