In response to reports claiming children in Manapla were being abducted in order to harvest their organs, the municipal police chief yesterday stated there is no truth to the rumors.
Manapla municipal police chief, Police Senior Inspector Julius Ceasar Colado, said the rumors circulating on social media have only spread fear among local residents, especially parents.
Colado said they immediately conducted an investigation following word of reported abductions in the town’s Barangays Tortosa and Punta Mesa, which turned out to be hearsay.
The rumors claimed a van was going around town picking up children. The purported victims were then sold in order for their organs to be harvested.
Colado added, residents should not believe rumors, especially if there is no official confirmation from relevant authorities./DGB, WDJ
