Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia and his wife, Elsa, are currently in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia for Manny Pacquiao’s upcoming World Boxing Association welterweight title fight this Sunday against Lucas Matthysse of Argentina.

The senator earlier sent an invitation to the mayor.

“May I invite you to be among those few trusted friends to come into the ring with me to carry the Philippine flag before the fight begins,” the boxer wrote in his invitation. “Your presence in the ring during my many previous title fights has always been a great morale support for me.”

President Rodrigo Duterte is also expected to attend.

Meanwhile, the Bacolod City government will be providing three live big screens showing the fight for free at the Barangay Handumanan gym, Barangay Villamonte gym, and the BAYS Center./DGB, WDJ
