The University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos (UNO-R) unveiled a piece of art donated by an alumnus yesterday at St. Joseph’s Hall, or the College of Engineering building.
Engr. Rommel Clavecillas created a kinetic painting, a piece that contains perceived movement, called “Albert is watching you,” which depicts famed scientist Albert Einstein.
The artist said he selected Einstein, calling him “unconventional” and that he wants the piece to serve as “an inspiration to all students.”
“I wish that my work will inspire them as Albert will always be watching them,” Clavecillas said.
Clavecillas graduated UNO-R with a civil engineering degree in 1984 and has since been featured in other art exhibits, including a 2009 exhibit in Venice Beach, California.
