A battle between the two clubs atop the Philippines Football League table will kick off today, July 7, at 3:00 p.m. at the Iloilo Sports Complex, where Ceres-Negros FC and Kaya FC-Iloilo will play another “Visayas Clásico.”
The two played to a 1-1 draw in their last meeting.
Ceres team manager Bella Fernando said Ceres midfielder Bienvenido Marañón remains questionable as he is coming off an injury. According to Ceres defender Junior Muñoz, the decision to field Marañón will be made by Ceres coach Risto Vidaković.
Meanwhile, Kaya coach Noel Marcaida said they are prepared regardless if Marañón starts.
“Marañón is a technical player but we are ready against the whole Ceres squad,” he affirmed.
The coach added, playing at home will also be a factor.
“[The fans] are the 12th man,” Marcaida explained. “Their presence [helps] the team a lot.”/JSG, WDJ
