Unlicensed firearms were seized by the police from a businessman in Hinigaran, Negros Occidental.

In an operation led by Hinigaran municipal police chief, Police Chief Inspector Jake Barila, a search warrant was presented to Loreto Segovia, Jake Calumba, and Danilo Garnado of the town’s Barangay Pilar.

Recovered from the suspects were one M15 rifle, six magazines, 130 bullets, one 12GA shotgun with four bullets, and a .9MM pistol with 12 bullets and two magazines.

Barile said some of the firearms had licenses but were not renewed.

He added, Segovia’s neighbors earlier filed complaints, claiming he was often seen brandishing his firearms outside his home.

The suspects are currently in the custody of the Bacolod City Criminal Investigation and Detection Group and face charges in violation of RA 10591, or the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act./DGB, WDJ
