Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia yesterday affirmed the recent murder of Tanauan City Mayor Antonio Halili last Monday will not deter him.
According to Leonardia, there are “certain occupational risks and hazards” as a local chief executive, adding, he “just has to live with the matter.”
He called the incident a “challenge to our peace and order,” noting, “For me, it’s still a matter of having a very peaceful city.”
Leonardia added, the murder of the Tanauan City mayor will likely be discussed during the League of Cities of the Philippines (LCP) General Assembly later this month./DGB, WDJ
