A man from Kabankalan City, Negros Occidental was shot dead early yesterday morning.
Police identified the fatality as 41-year-old Alejandro Donesa, a resident of Sitio San Jose, Barangay 6 of the said city.
Kabankalan City police said, based on witness accounts, residents heard a gunshot around 5:00 a.m. and discovered Donesa sitting on a chair with a gunshot wound to the head.
Residents immediately rushed Donesa to the city’s district hospital, where he was declared dead on arrival by hospital staff.
The suspect, identified as 61-year-old Emiliano Gregory, also of Barangay 6, later surrendered to police.
Investigators believe the incident was due to past grudges.
Gregory could face murder charges and is presently detained at the Kabankalan City Police Station./DGB, WDJ
