The Bacolod City Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP), during an event at the Bacolod City Government Center grounds earlier this week, presented Bacolod City Mayor Evelio Leonardia with a new P17.5-million fire truck, which was delivered to the city last week.
BFP firefighters demonstrated the capabilities of the Man-Rosenbauer model truck, which has a water capacity of 4,000 liters and can reach as high as six stories.
Bacolod City Fire Marshal, Chief Fire Inspector Publio Ploteña, said the new truck will be a big help to the city and thanked BFP chief, Director Leonard Bañago.
He said the BFP-Bacolod is currently equipped with 12 trucks, but five are currently due for repair. Meanwhile, the Bacolod Chamber Volunteer Fire Brigade has nine trucks and the Amity Volunteer Fire Brigade has five./WDJ
