A 45-year-old auto mechanic was killed after he was struck by a motorcycle and a tricycle late Friday night at Purok Busay in Barangay Cabug, Bacolod City.

Police identified the victim as Francisco Encarnacion, Jr., a resident of Guihulngan City, Negros Oriental.

Based on witness accounts, the victim was crossing a dark section of the road when he sideswiped by a motorcycle driven by 38-year-old Oliver Young.

Encarnacion tried to stand up but was then run over by a speeding tricycle, who immediately fled after the incident.

The pedestrian was killed on the spot after sustaining a fatal injury to the head, while Young surrendered to Police Station 9.

Police, meanwhile, are presently hunting down the tricycle driver, who currently remains unidentified./DGB, WDJ
