A total of 20 Negrenses were recognized as part of Istorya ng Pag-asa (INP), an initiative by the Office of the Vice President, described as a “traveling photo gallery featuring extraordinary stories of ordinary Filipinos.”

Vice President Maria Leonor ‘Leni’ Robredo was in Bacolod City yesterday to lead a presentation of the honorees during a ceremony at the Saint John Vianney Hall at the Bishop’s House.

The 20 are individuals who struggled early in life and have since emerged as professionals.

Robredo was accompanied by former Negros Occidental Governor Rafael Coscolluela, who currently serves as INP coordinator for Negros Occidental.

The vice president said profiles of the honorees will be circulated throughout schools, churches, and local government units in order to serve as inspiration.

Robredo also attended the ribbon-cutting for an INP exhibit.

INP was first opened in Negros Occidental last month, with the vice president visiting Bacolod City for a formal launch at the same venue./DGB, WDJ
