Schools in the Negros Occidental third congressional district will be playing host for the Teach for the Philippine (TFP) program, which provides leadership development through a teaching-learning system, beginning in the 2018-2019 academic year, which opened today.

A memorandum of agreement was signed over the weekend between Teach for the Philippines Vice Chair Margarita Delgado; Department of Education Schools Division Superintendent for Negros Occidental, Dr. Portia Mallorca; Talisay City Mayor Neil Lizares; and Victorias City Mayor Francis Frederick Palanca to allow six teacher-fellows to conduct their immersion program at various schools within the district.

Talisay Elementary School will host Jufeel Pulvosa of Central Philippine University, Kimberly Shane Ocbina of Ateneo de Naga University, and Maryanne Abog of the University of the Philippines-Diliman; while Victorias National High School will host Jesson Ordaneza of the University of the Philippines-Mindanao, Jonalyn Pattalitan of Sto.
